Concavenator

A medium sized therapod from the early Cretaceous, Concavenator inhabited what would become modern day Spain. Evidence of quill nobs have been found on the fossilized arm bones, indicating that this species almost certainly possessed some form of primitive feathers. This species other distinctive feature is the large hump on its back , which was supported by a pair of enlarged vertebrae. The hump may have been used to store fat like modern day camels, or as a display feature to attract a mate and intimidate rivals.
